Many of the wet bogs which line the route of the T'Railway are home to a unique and highly unusual species of plant. The Pitcher Plant, which is also our provincial flower, is one of the few carnivorous plants in the world. Each pitcher - from which it derives its name - contains a pool of water at the bottom in which insects drown and are digested, with the minerals being absorbed by the plant as a sort of mineral supplement.
